Happy Birthday Fanta

My darling little pewter Persian cat, Fanta, really Silver Fantasy, and sometimes known as Fanny, is 17 years old today.  Who would have guessed that she would out-live both her brothers, by quite a few years, particularly as she was so ill in her first year with constant gastroenteritis, and has barely grown above the size of a one-year old.  She is one spiky little girl, and is still first for her breakfast and dinner, and won't sand any truck from my two new boys that are now 17 months.  This was taken in the summer when she was sunning herself.  Sun!  What sun???

A Tim Holtz-y card with a bit of bling and Sweet Stampin

I have made a number of cards like this one, but I have added some very sparkly snowflakes that have been glammed up with glass glitter.  The rest did not get photographed because they went straight into envelopes for posting, and I realised that this has not been posted yet - so thought I would blog it.  This was also my DT card for Sweet Stampin on Saturday, and apologies that I did not get a post done then - I felt so ill with this bug.

I stamped and embossed the rendeer with Ranger gold embossing powder, then blended distress inks across the whole card.  On the bottom I stamped the trees in various colours of green distress ink.  Just added the glittery snowflakes, stamped the words, and rubbed gold dabber paint around the edges.  So quick and easy.

I really appreciate it that you take the time to look at my blog and leave such lovely comments. Thank you each and every one of you.

A bit of bling .... for a DT Call

NOTE:  This post was edited to add the second card for the Flutterby Wednesday DT Call.

Hello everybody on this cold, snowy evening.  I hope you are keeping well and warm.  Outside the windows it looks so pretty with the newly fallen snow softly glittering.

I must apologise to everybody that I have not been around in the last couple of weeks.  I have had a pretty nasty fluey cold for around 6/8 weeks, but then it really kicked in with a vile stomach bug as well, and I just had to give in and stay put, and I have slept for what seemed like days. I  just hope it has gone now.

On to my card.  Flutterby Wednesdays have a DT Call running.  I just love working with 'winged' images, particularly fairies.  Flutterby are asking for two cards, and the is the first one.  The second will be added at the end of the post.  I wanted to do something bright and blingy and lovely seasonal colours - this image from Mo's Digital Pencil just fits the bill - and she is very pretty.  I have coloured with copics, papers are Basic Grey Jovial and I have added flowers from WOC, with a slight modification by the addition of crystals to the centres.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:

Flutterby Wednesday - DT Call - this is the first of the two cards required for the DT call
Flutterby Wednesday - must use an angel, fairy or butterly
Copic Creations - sparkle
All Sorts - Free and easy - anything goes
Digital Tuesday - sparkling digi
Digis with Attitude - anything Christmas

This is the second card for the Flutterby Wednesday DT Call.

It's a Sassy Christmas at One Stop Card Crafts

Hi everybody

Post number 2 for me today, and it's a Sassy Christmas at One Stop Card Crafts.

For my card I have used a lovely image from Mo's Digital Pencil called Christmas Fairy - Holly.  I think she is really cute, and I love her big flouncy dress - so girly.  I have coloured with Copics, and added Stickles Diamond Glitter to her dress, and the edges of her holly wings.  My papers are from last year, and I cannot be sure what they are.  My flower is from Wild Orchid Crafts and the Snowflake is a Cuttlebug Die, which I have dipped in Twinklets and glitter.

A time for lots of shine for Sweet Stampin'

Good morning one and all

Woo Hoo!  I am on the design team for a second term!  Absolutely fab!

Another Saturday morning - I cannot understand where the time has gone this week.  I know I have been doing stuff, but nothing to blog as I was trying to catch up on getting cards done for Christmas and some are for people who might see them.

Anyway, on to the  Sweet Stampin' Challenge this week.  We have a recipe for you.  Three papers, two embellishments, one image.  Wot - no flowers from me?

We are sponsored by Craft Brulee today, and our monthly sponsor is Crafty Emma's Store.

Well, I already had my background made, but what to put on it.  In the end, I decided to be clever - wrong move - I now have gold leafing flakes all over the floor, because they jumped out of the box at me when I put the lid on.  In the box the leafing flakes look greeny silver, now on the card they have a gold colour!!

All my paper is from last year - not sure which brand - I made this background up a few weeks ago as part of a batch for my marathon Christmas card session.  The image is Penny Black.  I have cut snowlakes with Martha Stewart punches from silver holographic card, and added small blue ones over the top, which I glittered.  Ribbon and other bits and pieces from stash.

Don't forget to pop along to the Sweet Stampin' Challenge to have a look at all the fab creations.

Tea or Coffee anyone?

This week at the One Stop Craft Challenge our theme is Tea or Coffee.  For me it depends on the time of the day, and also whether I want a really strong dose of coffee, in which case it is an expresso or two,  or an instantly refeshing cup of Twinnings Lady Grey or Afternoon Tea!  In this case it is tea.  We are sponsored today by Dew Drop Craftz.  Do pop along to see the what the rest of the team have been up to.

I think for those looking at my blog recently might think I have shares in Lili of the Valley - because this is another image of theirs.  Such a pretty one with an old-fashioned feel.  I have coloured with Copics, and the teapot has been given a coat of Glossy Accents with a dash of stickles on the icing on the cupcake and the edge of the table cloth.  The papers are the new Curio from Basic Grey, which are rather yummy.  The sentiment is LOTV as well.  Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Collecting the tree ... for Sweet Stampin'

Good morning to one and all.  What a week it has been - snow everywhere, more to come, and lucky me I got a pretty nasty virus on my PC.   I was searching for a new Christmassy look for my blog, and looked at one site that has their own backgrounds and lists other blogs with free backgrounds as well.  I started going down the list, and opened one blog that has quite obviously had been hacked into or deliberately placed, and it was full of the most disgusting porn with the virus lurking.  It took me virtually all day to clean my PC.  Although I have all the standard anti-virus applications, none of them worked against this, because everytime I tried to do a scan this virus prevented it, until a free download from Microsoft called Security Essentials did the job.  This sort of thing makes me so angry.   I did email the blog concerned, and they have removed the offending link - it was not their fault.  Enough of the rants

Anyway I have a background I just had to have - the birds are my namesakes so what is a girl supposed to do when she is a Robin as well!!

On to this weeks' Sweet Stampin' challenge.  We are sponsored by LadyBug Crafts Ink, and I know there is a yummy prize for the winner.  We woud like to see your backgrounds created especially for your card - that means no branded DPs, but you can create one of your own.

I have done something fairly simple and have stamped and embossed with Winter Wonderland embossing powder straight on to my base card because I did not want to detract from this beautiful image from Lili of the Valley.  For the trees in the background I followed a project in the December issue of Craft Stamper  by Kay Carley for a technique using copics.  i thought it looked so effective so gave it a go.  The tree stamps I have had for years, and I have never used them, but they just suited this, and after colouring I added some Diamond Stickles..  For the sky I brushed some Distress Ink through a Spellbinder Impressabilities.  To finish I just mounted the whole thing on some Bazzill and finished off with a toning satin ribbon.  No greeting as I am not yet sure who this is for.

Snowy blues .... for several challenges

A card that seems somewhat appropriate given all the snow everywhere today.  My cats have been sitting at the window mesmerized with the snowflakes floating down.

Once again I have chosen a lovely Lili of the Valley stamp for this card.  Ths one is called Skating Along.  I have coloured with Copics, with copious amounts of glitter on the furry parts of her clothings, and added some silvery glass shards to the ice.  The sentiment is also Lili of the Valley from one of their newly released sets.  The papers are from a Bearly Mine Christmas set.  Edge punch is Martha Stewart as are the snowflakes.  The flowers are, as ever, from Wild Orchid Crafts.
