Less is More - Silhouettes

At Less is More it is theme week, and this time round it is Silhouettes.  So again I am out of my comfort zone, but I have used a favourite Penny Black stamp for this, but one I often emboss against black.  It has such a lot of movement in the image.

I stamped this on shimmer card and it is horrible to photograph.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

Creative Card Crew - Monochromatic
Everybody Art Challenge - Christmas Card
Sassy Cheryl's - Anything Goes
Shopping Our Stash - Christmas or Winter

Leaves

Hi everybody

My second post today.  I decided to use a couple of new stamps for Less is More whose challenge is One Layer - Leaves.  One is the Stampin Up French Leaves, which I love.  The second is a Penny Black stamp - Snowflake and Holly, which I am really struggling with to get a decent image.

For this first card I stamped the text with archival ink, and then the leaves were done with a Kaleidoscope Cappucino pad

On this card I have stamped with Olive Archival ink, and in order to get the snowflake to show up I have added a holographic snowflake, which has promply turned pink when I photographed it.  My bin is full of various versions of this, trying out different inks.  I did think that maybe the card is just soaking up the ink too much, but I guess I am just going to have to persevere with it.

Going dotty ...

Hi everybody

What a gorgeous sunny day, and such a clear sky.  The sort of crisp Autumn day I like.

Less is More are asking us to go dotty this week, and this is my offering.

My dotty backgroud is a Stampotique image. The dots are distress inks. The flower is Hero Arts, which I stamped and coloured twice, and then cut out and added the smalled section on top.  The sentiment is one from an Elusive Images (now Chocolate Baroque)  set called Life Affirmations.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Less is More - Polka Dots
Crafty Ann - Clean and Simple
Crafty Sentiments - No designer paper
Jens Digi Stamps - Polka Dots

A Heart for Less is More

Mandi and Chrissie at LIM want to see  hearts this week on a one layer card.  I do hearts, but not sure about it being a one layer!

I have used a Stempelglede heart from the Grungy Hearts plate, and my sentiment is from their Just a Note plate.  The only embellishment is some small pearls to dot the i's.

I am also entering this into the following challenge:

CES - Seeing red

Less is More is Off-Centre

I have been playing about with a couple of new stamps, and thought I would enter my attempts at Less is More.  I decided to keep both as one layer, although i was sorely tempted to make the first one up with a mount for the image!

On the first card  I masked the edge of the card and then stamped a Hero Arts Crackle Stamp with Distress Ink.  I then stamped over it with a Penny Black Stamp which I have just acquired.  I used Stampin' Up ink in black.  The poppy is coloured with Copics.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up.

With the second card I used a very old Hero Arts shadow background stamp with several colours of Distress Ink on it.  Then I overstamped with a stamp from a set of stamps by Artemio.  i don't like the sentiment placing on this, and think I will have to play about a bit more with this idea.

Both cards are stamped on to cream cardstock.

I am entering this for the following challenge:

Claudia & Co - Clean and Simple
Stamp, Scrappin'Central - Anything goes

A touch of red for Less is More and some other challenges

Hi everybody

Another beautiful clear blue sky, and a card from me.

I haven't entered Less is More for a while, and decided that as I had nothing planned this morning, I would make a card.  How unusual is that you might say!  Well at the moment I am also working on a lot of stuff to sell, as i have decided to take a stall at our village fete, which is quite a big affair, and I need to make sure I have stuff other than cards, so my kitchen table has been taken over as a painting station for a lot of stuff as well!!

My lovely spring-like tulips are from Fred She Said.  I have coloured with Copics, and the green frame is a piece of card recycled from a pack of Prisma Flowers, and tones beautifully with the leaves.

I am entering this for the following challenges:

Allsorts - blooming blossoms
Less Is More - a touch of red
Paper Sundaes - spring blossoms
The Rubber Cafe - spring flowers

I really appreciate it that you take the time to look at my blog and leave such lovely comments. Thank you each and every one of you.

A flower for Less is More ....

In the interests of trying to restrain myself from covering everything with lush flowers, I am continuing my efforts of entering Less is More.  It is now week 2, and  this week is the challenge is a  ONE LAYER CARD  with the theme of a flower or three.  I cannot remember when I last did a one layer card.  Anyway I wasted all Thursday afternoon trying to get a decent image from a fabby  Personal Impressions stamp which is like a dandelion blowing in the wind.  I have had this sometime and not inked it up before.  Well I failed miserably - whatever ink or cardstock I used.

So this is my entry, and I have added a score line down the side and across the bottom to frame the image.

I am entering this for the following challenge:

CCEE Stampers - use scoring

Less is More - A new challenge on the block

Good morning bloggers

A lovely crafting buddy of mine, Chrissie, and her friend Mandi, have started a new challenge blog - Less is More.  Anybody who follows Chrissie will know that she is the master of less is more, and that she produces fabulously elegant cards.  The theme for the first challenge is Pink, Black and White.

Most people who know me realise that I find this style of card very difficult - all the space makes me nervous.  Anyway I decided to take the plunge.  The pink image is from an Elusive Images plate that I have had for a long time, and very rarely used, and there were several images from that one plate I could have used for this challenge.  The sentiment is from the same plate.  I stamped the image with a ColourBox chalk ink, and the image and the black mount have been cut with a Nestie die.  However, I couldn't resist just a little bit of sparkle, so three pink gems have been added as well.

I am entering this for the following challenges:
Aly's Sunday sketch - Bling
StampArtic - Clean and Simple

I really appreciate it that you take the time to look at my blog and leave such lovely comments. Thank you each and every one of you.
