Vintage Travel

Good morning everybody

At least I hope it is, but this is a scheduled post, so you never know, what it is likely to be.  The rain scuppered all my plans for Sunday, and the road outside was like a river.

At Make My Monday this week, everybody is on their travels - Vintage style.  So cars, bikes, balloons, steam trains, sailing ships - the choice is yours - just make sure it has a vintage flavour.

I have used a combination of stamps for my card.  I used distress ink on the background, and overstamped just to give a bit of interest in some lines, and then script.  The car image is Crafty Individuals, and the lady sitting at the side is a favourite B Line stamp called Stylish Traveller.   All the main stamping is done with Stampin Up Expresso.

Please pop across to Make My Monday.  As usual, the team have come up with some brilliant pieces of work for your inspiration.

I really appreciate it that you take the time to look at my blog and leave such lovely comments. Thank you each and every one of you.

 Hugs,

Monochromatic - One Stop Crafts Challenge - DT Card

Another week gone - it has just flown.

The theme at the One Stop  Crafts Challenge  is Monochromatic this week. .

My card was inspired by something that I had seen made by Lin Brown of LB Crafts, and all the lovely B Line stamps I have - of which there are many, all bought from LB Crafts over the years, and I am ashamed to say that do not get used as much as they should be.

The  card is shades of grey.  The papers are printed from  the Artylicious Decadent Brocade CD, available from Graphicus - one page I printed as is, and the other I printed in Greyscale to get a lighter colour.

There is a minimal amount of colouring on the lady for her jacket and body parts.  The flower underneath her I have layered, and the lady is on foam pads to make her pop out a bit.  The swirl is been embellished with pearls,

I am entering this for the following challenges:

Totally Papercrafts #24 - Swirls and Pearls
Paper Sundaes #25 - White and one other colour - mine is shades of grey
Pile it on #26 - My favourite things - I started using B Line stamps when I started crafting and whatever else I use I will always come back to them - these are my favourites for many many things ....

Thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate your comments.

Vintage, Distress, Whatever ...

As I am sitting doing this post the sun is shining outside, and the bells are pealing across the fields at the church which is 10 minutes down the road from us.  Such a lovely day.

This style is slightly different from my norm, but something I enjoy doing, and in fact when I started stamping most of my cards were in this sort of style.

All the stamps I have used are B Line from L B Crafts.  The main image is called Stand By Me, and the other is Floral corner.  I have inked the background with Distress Inks, , and coloured the images with them as well.    The background paper is from a box of K & Co papers, with the mount a textured Bazzill on which I have used a Martha Stewart punch along the edge.  The leaves are punched with L-Em punches, flowers are Prima with a Basic Grey enamelled brad.  Ribbon from stash - I think it came from Craft Fairy as I always stock up with them at shows.

I am entering this card for the following challenges

Stamp Simply 123 - Very Vintage

Another challenge, and something different for me - I don't do vintage very often.   At No Time to Stamp? the challenge this week is very vintage.  This is my take on it.

I 'simply' sponged Distress Ink colours over some cream card, and then stamped the central picture on to the stamp card, masked it, used one of the colours to stamp the floral motif around it.  The frame was gold embossed on to card and rubbed with the same colours from the background.  A ribbon, and a metal birthday card from stash wrapped round the whole thing, and mounted on to a co-ordinating card.

The stamps are all B Line from LB Crafts.

Have a great weekend everyone, and thanks for stopping by.

Think Monday - Think ATC

This weekend sees the 40th anniversary of The Woodstock Festival, and for those of us old enough to remember, it was billed as three days of peace and music - which was said to change the face of music. So the theme at TMTA is flowers, and this is my take on it.

I have resist stamped a grungy butterfly on a piece of glossy card, brayed over this with ink, and then stamped Flowers in Her Hair on top, and embelished with flowers and brads.

Recipe:
Stamps - B Line Designs, Tim Holtz
Ink - Kaleidoscope, Stazon
Embelishments from stash

Thanks for stopping by.
