Summery and Girlie ...

No shade in my garden at the moment, so I am writing this post to go with my summery and girlie card.  I know I often say that 'oh - this is my favourite' something or other - but Sarah Kay images come in the tops as well for me.  They are so pretty and offer so many colouring possibililites, and I like the hats!

My  lovely lady - Isabelle with puppy Coco - is my card for today.  I have used Copics for colouring, and have given it bright summery pinks.  The papers used are ScribbleScrabble, and two different types of Bazzill - Bling and Swiss Dot.  The ribbon is Stampin Up' and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, liberally doused with crystal Stickles, and some fern leaves made with a punch.

I am entering this for the following challenges:

Stamp Something - Summery
Cutie Sunday #97 - Summer
Bunny Zoe's Craft's Monthly Challenge #1 - Nice and Girlie

Welcome, Little One

There is a brilliant sketch by Jane on the Whiff of Joy Challenge this week.  I have loved working with it, and this is the third time this week I have made use of it in various different ways.
The image I have used for this card is Willow with Baby - isn't she cute.

I have coloured with Prisma pencils this time.  The background papers are from an MME pack, with  Bazzill used for the base.  The lovely lace from Bunny Zoe's, and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.  Pearls from stash.  The punching has been done with a Martha Stewart doilly edge punch.

So this is being entered for the Whiff of JoyChallenge, no 78, using the sketch above,
and also
Pile it On, no. 18, Cute and Cudly - well I think so
Fab and Funky Challenge , no 22, Fancy Edges
Delightful Sketches - pull out your punches
365 Cards, 3 L's - Love, Leaves, Lace - I think this qualifies - baby love
Simple Doodles, You're on my Mind
Simon Says Stamp - Birthday/Celebration - I think this celebrates the birth of a child

Vintage, Distress, Whatever ...

As I am sitting doing this post the sun is shining outside, and the bells are pealing across the fields at the church which is 10 minutes down the road from us.  Such a lovely day.

This style is slightly different from my norm, but something I enjoy doing, and in fact when I started stamping most of my cards were in this sort of style.

All the stamps I have used are B Line from L B Crafts.  The main image is called Stand By Me, and the other is Floral corner.  I have inked the background with Distress Inks, , and coloured the images with them as well.    The background paper is from a box of K & Co papers, with the mount a textured Bazzill on which I have used a Martha Stewart punch along the edge.  The leaves are punched with L-Em punches, flowers are Prima with a Basic Grey enamelled brad.  Ribbon from stash - I think it came from Craft Fairy as I always stock up with them at shows.

I am entering this card for the following challenges

Flutter by Wednesday

Flutter by Wednesday have asked that we do something Clean and Simple with our butterflies, angels or fairies.  I was not sure whether I knew how do do this!  I always seem to load everything up.  So here it is ..... I hope it is not too plain, but I understand that the idea is there should be clean space around the image so that nothing detracts.

This is a Stampin' Up image from the 2008/2009 catalogue, and I cannot remember the name of the set, but there are some lovely images in it.  The sentiment is from the same set.  I stamped with Stazon, and coloured with a mixture of Derwents Inktense Watercolour Pencils and Distress Inks.  I have mounted on to some pale pink Bazzill card that co-ordinates with the dress, and cut a small butterfly to go behind the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate your comments.

Rain, rain , go away ... and some spring colours

My first challenge for a while, and it currently represents was is happening here.  However, it has been lovely these last few days just being able to relax in the garden in the sun, with everything springing into life around me.

This card is being entered into the following challenges:

- Whiff of Joy Challenge, no. 76, which has a sketch from the very talented Bev

- Quixotic Challenges, and they are asking entries to Make a Splash

- Our Creative Corner, lots of Blooming Blossoms

- The Creative Cottage Challenge, Going Green - well there's lots of this!

- Rainbow Lady's Challenge, 100 - April Showers

The image is Whiff of Joy, Willow in the Rain. I have coloured with Copics, but I am not too happy with my blending this time around. Probably out of practice a bit. The cardstock us Bazzill Bling, and the papers are the lovely Basic Grey Kyoshi - there are so many different colourways. Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, with leaves punched from various punches, with stickles used to add an itty bitty sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate your comments.

4 in 1

Over on Whiff of Joy Katharina's blog she is looking for 1-3 Guest Designers for 2 months at a time for the Whiff of Joy Challenge blog. This first call is open until January 23rd. There are some great perks to receive if you get to be chosen which are detailed along with what is expected on Katharina's blog. For this first Guest Design Team call there is a sketch to follow.

I have decided to add a second entry.  The parameters and sketch are exactly as my previous posting.  So here is my entry:

The image is Willow with flower basket.  It is stamped with monento ink and coloured with Prisma pencils.  The DP papers are Basic Grey Wisteria - some of my favourites and not much left of the, and I have used toning Bazzill cardstock.  Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and ribbon and pearls from stash.

One Stop Craft Challenge wanted to see fancy edges and corner, and there quite a few of these included.

Incy Wincy Designs, who are based down under, are looking for wonderful colouring.

Pile it on - are looking for something tied on.  The ribbion which is covered in pearls is tied at the back of the punched embellishment

Thanks for stopping by.

Whiff of Joy Stamps - Guest Designer Call

I have decided to put an entry into the Whiff of Joy DT designer call , which is being done through an annoucement on Katharina's blog and I would love to become part of this DT team. These stamps are fast becoming some of my favourites - the images are so clear when stamped.

The basis for this card is loosely based on a sketch used when I attended a class at The Hobby House run by the brilliant Bev earlier this year.

For this entry I have decided to use Willow with Lantern. I have coloured with Prisma pencils. The papers are Bazzill and My Minds Eye Bella Bella. Everything else was from stash.

Thanks for stopping by.

2 in 1 - Rain, Rain Go Away

Hi everybody

I thought this was quite appropriate as I was making this - it was bucketing down with rain outside. What happened to summer?
This is being entered for two challenges

- the Whiff of Joy Monday Challenge, where I am following the sketch by the very talented Bev Rochester, whose work I absolutely love and find inspirational, and if any of you get the opportunity to one of Bev's workshops, then do so, they are great fun and you will learn a lot.

- Crafty Cardmarkers, the challenge being to use Complementary colours, based on the colour wheel; my complementary colours (based on my Bazzill Wheel) are Dark Orange and Dark Blue.

I have used a Whiff of Joy stamp, Willow in the Rain, coloured with Prisma pencils. The base card is different friom my usual, and I am not sure I like the way the pencils work with this card. Background papers are Bazzill orange and Basic Grey Marradesh (the first ones I have used from the pack - I bought these for stroking!! - the colours are so me). The greeting is Stampin' Up, and all the embellishments are from The Hobby House.

Thanks for stopping by.

3 in 1

I am entering this card for three challlenges.
- The Penny Black Saturday Challenge, no. 62, which has a colour theme of Blue, Tan and Cream,
- The ABC Challenge, and this week the challenge is starting at A again, and the theme is anything goes with the option of animals
- Pile It on - the theme is masculine.
So, I think I have all bases covered.

The is a late 90's stamp called Fly Away. I love the cute dog - he is obviously not sure he wants to fly! I have coloured with Prisma pencils - the first time I have used them. The papers are Granola, which have been languishing in the drawer for some time.

Recipe:
Stamp - Penny Black
Paper - Basic Grey and Bazzill
Embellishments from stash
Thanks for stopping by.
