A very simple Christmas card - maybe for a guy ...

This stamp is from a set of Elusive Image stamps I have had for a long time, and not really used.  I quite like the image of the reindeer with the swirls, and wanted to stamp in a colour to go with the tartan ribbon,  Hence the red.  I do think probably I need to find a slightly darker red next time around though.  Either side of the ribbon I have scored a couple of lines to add a bit more interest., but they don't show in the photo.

I am going to enter it into the following challenges:

Cards for men - anything goes
Stamping 411 - I followed their sketch

Black & White + 1 other colour

I am in Christmas card making mode, and decided to go with simplicity for a batch I have made today.  So it is black and white, and gold.  Two slightly different versions, but using the same stamp.  I have embossed the Penny Black Fantasy Tree on to black card, and then double mounted - first gold card and then black again.  However, the last black layer is a brocade embossed card so it gives a little bit of a shine.  The whole thing is mounted on to white card that has a gold sheen.  So a batch of eight very quickly completed.  Apologies the photos are poo.

I am entering this into the following challenge:

Craft Catz - Colour challenge - Black and white plus one other colour
Craft your Passion - glitz and glitter - well I have glitz in the form of gold embossing
The Crazy Challenge - Shapes - mine are all square - hope that counts!
I did it Creations - Surprise me!
One Stitch at a Time - All Celebrations
Fussy and Fancy - Winter Wonderland - I Know - I'm pushing it a bit!!
Bah Humbug - Elegance
2 Sisters Challenge - Anything goes

Sweet Stampin - Anything but a card ....

Good morning to one and all.

Haha - I thought - I have got my project in early - yes - I did - but forgot to write up my post, so, it is now early hours of Saturday morning when I am writing this.  Silly me, I got really engrossed in doing backgrounds for Christmas cards,  I forgot everything else!!

In case you have forgotten what this month's Sweet Stampin' prize is - here is a little reminder

So this week at Sweet Stampin' we want to see projects that are anything but a card - so bring all your wonderful alternative creations to us, but please remember to include stamping.

For me, I have made some tags and a small hanging, most of which I did in a class with Hels Sheridan. They used some of my favourite colours of distress inks, namely Red Barn Door, Crushed Olive and Wild Honey, which I have used on the wall hanging and one of the tags. The other tag has a mixture of Chipped Glass, Forest Green, and wild Honey and Aged Mahogany.  Both the tags have been embossed with one of the Tim Holtz Sizzix folders.

All the flowers are cut from old book pages with Tim's Tattered Florals, and inked up to make the flowers, in the middle of which there is a metal button.  On the final tag I have a rose in the middle, and have added some beaded wire across the tag as well.  A variety of bits and pieces from Tim's Ideology range have also  been used for embellishing

I am entering this for the following challenges:

ABC Challenge - F is for flowers
Simon Says Stamp and Show - Anything but a card
Stamptacular Sunday - No cards allowed
Pear Tree Designs - Free for all
Tuesday Throwdown - Anything goes
Craftalicious - Anything goes
The Crafty Pad - Distress or torn edges

DT Card - Lexi's Creations - Birthdays

Hello Monday morning bloggers.  Hope you had a great weekend.

I had a brill time on Saturday at a workshop with Hels Sheridan.  Lots of fun and chatter, and some lovely stuff produced by all the lovely people there.   Ohhh!  Too many 'lovelies' ......
This week we are celebrating Birthdays here at Lexi's Creations.  The reason - well this Challenge Blog came into being this time last October.  So it is our 1st Birthday.
So for this challenge we will have THREE randomly selected winners.

FairyDust Crafts is sponsoring the challenge this week

  • First Prize: 2 Fairy Dust Rubber Stamps to the winner (Lexi's Creation's images
  • 2nd Prize: 3 Digi's
  • 3rd Prize: 2 Digi's From Fairy Dust Crafts

For my card I have used two of Lexi's images - Tessie Turtle and a sentiment.  The image is coloured in copics - really not sure what colours turtles should be, and I have to say that some I saw last year in Tobago Cays certainly did not look this colour!!  The papers are from the Basic Grey Origins paper pad.  The border along the bottom is punched with a Martha Stewart punch.  Flower and pearls from stash.

DT Card - One Stop Craft Challenge - Woo Hoo

Hi everybody

I hope you are all looking forward to the weekend.  I hope this post appears when it is supposed to, because I am off to a workshop with Hels Sheridan.

At the  One Stop Craft Challenge we are celebrating Halloween, and are sponsored by Tiffany Doodles, who are providing 10 digi images as the prize.  Do pop over to the challenge and have a go.

For my card I have stamped and embossed on silk card in Rangers Super Fine Detail embossing powder a tree from an Elusive Images range of stamps.  This embossing powder is the bees knees.  Over that I brayered in ink from the Sweetpea  Big 'n'Juicy pad.  I  placed a card spot so that I could add some yellow for a moon.  My owl  image is coloured with copics and then cut with a nestie.  Card from the same piece as the base was used for the mount.  I then layered up various pieces of paper on the purple base card.  The sentiment is computer generated.

I am entering this for the following challenges:

The Creative Cottage - Halloween
Stampin Royalty - Haloween
Penny's Paper Craft Challenge - it has to fly

An autumn coloured card for several challenges

A late Monday evening posting for me.  I sort of got waylayed because I wanted to watch Spooks during the evening, so did not finish until late.

I have folowed a sketch from Crafty Creations #88 .  This card has a Lili of the Valley image, which I have coloured with Copics.  I have used paper from K & Co Ancestry, which has autumnal colours, using both sides.  The base card is a pearlised card on to which is mounted some tan card to co-ordinate with the Ancestry paper.   I have embellished with flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, which have some stickles on added a couple of pearl pins, and some little gems.

I am also going to enter this card into the following challenges:

The photos are pooh and I will try and get some more tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate your comments.

DT card - Sweet Stampin' Diamonds for Emma

Gosh!!  Saturday morning again - where has the time gone.  It is also Sweet Stampin' time, and the theme is Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend.  So come on everybody let's see your diamonds, and be in with a chance to win this scrummy prize.

This is  quite a simple card for me.  I stamped the Scroll  straight on to the card blank with Big n' Juicy Waterfall, and used the same ink to stamp the inage as well.  I have cut out with a nestie and the scalloped mount is Core-dinations cardstock, which looks almost black in the picture, but is in fact a darker bluey-green in the same tones as the ink.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up.  To finish off I have added gems to the  scroll and at the end of the sentiment.

Sadly, Emma has decided it is time to leave us. Emma started Sweet Stampin in October 2009 and has made it the success it is today. She is a complete diamond and we are going to miss her. A lot. So, to honour Emma, this weeks challenge is dedicated to her. Please stop by her personal Blog and give her some love, she soooo deserves it.

What ? Never seen a diva before ?

Good morning bloggers - a bright sunny morning!

I thought I would try my hand at a challenge I have never entered before - Stampotique Designers Challenge - and the theme is vintage.  Now some challenges are more difficult to fill the criteria than others, and I think this is one of them, particularly as the only stamps allowed this time around are Stampotique.

For the papers I used various pieces of clip art vintage papers, and I have coloured them with Distress Inks, and used a Stampotique sploge stamp on them as well.  My main image is Prom Queen, and I have used the Diva sentiment as well.   I have added a couple of die cut flowers, and a bit of lace coloured with distress inks.

Thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate your comments.

DT Post - Lexi's Creations meets several challenges ...

The weekend seems to have flown by, and it is wet Monday again!!!  I image my dear BIL is going back to work today very unhappy - he is a golfer, and as his daughter lives virtually on top of Celtic Manor in Wales, she got him tickets for his birthday for the practice days and  match days for the Ryder Cup, and the majority of the time it has been totally awash down there.

So, Monday is also the day for Lexi's Creations, and the theme is Spooky.

This week our Sponsor is the fabulous Joanna Sheen

The winner will receive a £10 Voucher to spend in her Online Craft Shop.

I have used Vamp Girl from Lexi.  She has been coloured with copics, with some sparkle given to her Wings and Boots.  Don't you just love those holey stockings.  It certainly takes me back some years!

The orange wash background paper has been stamped with a spider, and just below the lace I have stamped a cat, which is trying to look a little scarey.  As I do not have a cobweb punch I used a lacy one to make it look a little webby, though I know it won''t fool most people.  My sentiment is computer generated, and I have added a flower from Prima, which has been in my stash for white a while.

I am entering this for the following challenges:

Paper Sundaes #38 - Something from your stash - mine is lace, flower and gems..
Cowgirls Sunday Stampen' Challenge - Anything goes
The Crafty Pad Challenge #91 - Spooky
Gingerloft Challenge #3 - Glitter or Bling - I have both
I did it Creations Challenge 24 - Spooky Special
One Stitch at a Time Challenge 33 - Spooky Special
Stamp Scrap and Doodle Saturdays - Anything goes

DT Post - One Stop Card Crafts meets several other challenges

Good morning everybody

I hope you are all looking forward to the weekend.  Today brings the 100th Challenge for One Stop Card Crafts, so the theme is Congratulations.  I would like to my congratulations to all the people who are working so hard to keep this challenge running - they are really great and there is a lot of talent amongst them.

This week we are sponsored by

Nikki has kindly offered a £10.00 gift voucher to spend on Dewdrop Craftz Digi Images!!

My card this week features a stamp I have not used before - it has been sitting in my LOTV file for some time.  This is 'Baby Christening', which I have coloured with copics.    I decided that rather than the usual pink or blue, I would do a pale yellow theme.  The patterned papers are Papermania.  The pale yellow base card is Bazzill.   I have used this for the die cuts as well - Marianne D and Nesties, and Martha Stewart punches.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts which have been edged with stickles, but does not show in the photos.   Pearls from stash, and the sentiment is computer generated.

Tuesday Throwdown #19 - Punches
The Sisterhood of Crafters - at least 3 flowers
Penny's Paper Crafty 19 - Circles - I have one behind my stamped image
