Whiff of Joy - Guest DT Call, and ABC Challenge

Over on Whiff of Joy Katharina's blog she is looking for 1-3 Guest Designers for 2 months at a time for the Whiff of Joy Challenge blog. This first call is open until January 23rd. There are some great perks to receive if you get to be chosen which are detailed along with what is expected on Katharina's blog.  For this first Guest Design Team call there is a sketch to follow.

This is my take on it:

I used the Rose Swing and Willow Sitting Bride, and I am ashamed to admit that I have not used them before.  However, this will also make a lovely card for the daughter of a dear friend who is getting married.
I stamped Willow first and made a mask of her, and stamped the Rose Swing around her.   I coloured with Prisma Pencils. I then cut out and mounted onto Bazzill cardstock. The DP I have used is all from the Basic Grey Porcelain. The circle, which is not very visible, was cut out with a Lattice Pendant Nestie, and I added an overlay of the green DP to prvide a muted background for the flowers.  I have added more than the three on the sketch, because I felt it needed it.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The heart border at the bottom is cut with a Martha Stewart valentine lace punch, and overlaid with lace and pearls from my stash.

Details of the flowers:

I am also entering this for the ABC Challenge, M is for Masking, and it fits the criteria for that challenge as well.

Thanks for stopping by.

Whiff of Joy Stamps - Guest Designer Call

I have decided to put an entry into the Whiff of Joy DT designer call , which is being done through an annoucement on Katharina's blog and I would love to become part of this DT team. These stamps are fast becoming some of my favourites - the images are so clear when stamped.

The basis for this card is loosely based on a sketch used when I attended a class at The Hobby House run by the brilliant Bev earlier this year.

For this entry I have decided to use Willow with Lantern. I have coloured with Prisma pencils. The papers are Bazzill and My Minds Eye Bella Bella. Everything else was from stash.

Thanks for stopping by.

Penny Black Saturday Chalenge - Week 66

Hooray - I am early for once, instead of entering at the last minute.

I am entering this for week 66 of the PB Saturday Challenge, which has a sketch to follow, which requires you to have at least one PB stamp on your entry. My PB stamp is the embossed snowflakes on the panel above the angels.

The darling little angels are Judikins, which I bought from Stamp Addicts several years ago, and I love it the little one with her fallen halo - she even has her toes crossed.

These are stamped in Momento Ink , and I masked the front two angels in order to stamp the other one behind them. I have coloured with Prisma pencils, but just to give a hint of colour. The wings are coated with Stickles. The snowflake panel has been embossed with a glittery embossing powder. The background paper is from the Artylicious Double CD, Seasons Greetings, from Graphicus. Charms and pearls are from The Hobby House.

Thanks for stopping by.

4 in 1

Where does the time go - no posts all week.
Somehow I have managed to fit this entry for four challenges. Not sure how I managed that - I think it is a record for me! I just don't know how some people get to cover six or more challenges with one card. I think forward planning comes in there somewhere ...........

These challenges are

I have used a Penny Black image of a cute snowman, and it is coloured with Prisma pencils, with a very generous helping of Stickles for some bling. The image it is cut with a Nestabilities die, as is the red mount - not sure you can see that it is embossed (but I assure you that it is), as is the text label at the bottom. To make sure I really did have some stamp embossing there as well, the strip of blue card are the side has been silver embossed with holly swirls. I am not sure where the papers are from - just in my Christmas stash box, and I have added Stickles to this as well. You cannot have Christmas cards without bling. The irridescent snowflakes were left over from last year, and I have added snowflake charms to these, which came from the Hobby House.

Thanks for stopping by.

2 in 1 - Rain, Rain Go Away

Hi everybody

I thought this was quite appropriate as I was making this - it was bucketing down with rain outside. What happened to summer?
This is being entered for two challenges

- the Whiff of Joy Monday Challenge, where I am following the sketch by the very talented Bev Rochester, whose work I absolutely love and find inspirational, and if any of you get the opportunity to one of Bev's workshops, then do so, they are great fun and you will learn a lot.

- Crafty Cardmarkers, the challenge being to use Complementary colours, based on the colour wheel; my complementary colours (based on my Bazzill Wheel) are Dark Orange and Dark Blue.

I have used a Whiff of Joy stamp, Willow in the Rain, coloured with Prisma pencils. The base card is different friom my usual, and I am not sure I like the way the pencils work with this card. Background papers are Bazzill orange and Basic Grey Marradesh (the first ones I have used from the pack - I bought these for stroking!! - the colours are so me). The greeting is Stampin' Up, and all the embellishments are from The Hobby House.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hi everybody
Hope you have had a lovely weekend. I went to a Copic workshop yesterday run by Stamps & Memories of Kintbury, met a lovely bunch of like-minded crafters. We had some fun and learnt a lot from Karen and Wendy. Thank you ladies. Now I have to decide whether I am going to invest in Copics. My guess is that I will eventually.

So on to the challenges I am entering this card into.
Dutch Dare Challenge - Christmas in August
Winter Wonderland - the theme is By Candle light
Simon Says Stamp Challenge - and the theme is ......... Christmas in August!

The image is Willow with Lantern, and is coloured with Prisma pencils. I have used various backing papers from my stash, including two from the Figgy Pudding range from last year. The snowflakes are cut out with a Martha Stewart punch, and covered in Diamond Dust. However the twinkle does not show up in the photo. The flourishes are punched with a Paper Shaper punch.

Recipe:
Stamps - Whiff of Joy, Stampin' Up
Papers - Basic Grey and from stash
Punches from the Hobby House

Thanks for stopping by.

2 in 1

Hi everybody

This card is being entered into two challenges
- All Sorts Challenge, week 14 which has has a theme of 'In a English Country Garden' and this is my take on it, with the birds also flying around the garden.
- Cute Card Thursday, no. 74 - Lazy Dayz, which can be a summery stamp or have a summer colour theme.

Sarah Kay are some of favourite 'cute' stamps, and so pretty. I have coloured with Prisma pencils - I think I might be getting the hang of them at last - having had them in the cupboard since last year and hardly used them (no excuse at all!). The Magenta papers are a new purchase from Crafts U Love.

Recipe:

Stamps - Sarah Kay and Penny Black
Colour - Prisma pencils
Papers - Magenta Printemps Passion
Flowers - Prima
Brads, Spacers, and Punches for leaves - The Hobby House

CupCakes all the way ..

It is the 1st birthday of the Cupcake craft challenge, with cupcakes optional! However I have decided it is cupcakes all the way - after all celebrating a birthday with cupcakes can be rather yummy.

The stamps and background papers are all Stampin' Up, the flowers Prima, and the brads from one of my favourite shopping places.
Colours are done with Inktense pencils, with Shimmerz and Sakura pens to give a bit of bling.

Thanks for stopping by.

3 Challenges in I - Stampin for the weekend, The Corrosive Challenge and Inspirational Card Sketches

Hi Everybody
3 in 1 this time around - really had to think about that before I rushed in like a bull in a china shop.

This card is based on the brilliant sketch by Tricia for ICS, and there are some lovely DT examples on the blog as well.

The Corrosive Challenge required an Anniversary Card, and I think this fits the bill - sometimes I don't like things too over the top.

Stampin' for the weekend requires something with a vintage look and I think this also fits that - the papers certainly do, as does the washed out water colouring.

I have used some of favourite papers (can they all really be favourites - I guess so otherwise I would not buy them, and the image and text is from a set of stamps called Summer by the sea, again coloured with water pencils.

Recipe:
Stamp - Stampin' Up
Paper - K & Co, Madeline
Flowers - Prima
Embellishements - The Hobby House
Thanks for stopping by.

a 2 in 1 challenge - Stamp Something and Winter Wonderland

Wow - starting on Christmas already, and probably late compared to most people. So I have decided to enter this for two challenges, as I think it fits both. And, as I loved the sketch from Friday Sketchers 64, I have decided to use that again. This stamp is coloured with Inktense pencils - so easy to use - and I have used Christmas paper from last year. If you can see specs, I nearly of loaded a whole tube of Glamour Dust everywhere - so sparkles everywhere!

Recipe:
Stamp - Whiff of Joy
Paper - Basic Grey Dasher
Flowers - Prima
Charm - The Hobby House
Everything else is from stash.

Thanks for stopping by.
