It's Ooh La La at Sweet Stampin' this week

Good morning everybody

I cannot believe how quickly the week has gone.  Sadly this is my last post for  Sweet Stampin  where the theme is Ooh La La - so we want to see something  French, or something a bit cheeky or saucy.

Sweet Stampin is sponsored by Quixotic Paperie who are offering a £10 voucher to be winner, and don't forget the monthly sponsor, Joanna Sheen, who is also offering a £10 voucher.

I have used a lovely stamp from Kanban, and coloured with Copics, and then covered her dress with crystal stickles to allow the colour to come through.  I have very lightly stamped aroound the edge of the image as well and put stickles on that as well to give it some glimmer.  My papers are from GCD Blue Ella.  I have added pleated ribbon, lace and a pearl swirl.  The fab feathery flower is Prima.

I am entering this for the following challenges:

Bunny Zoe's Crafts - Lace
Creative Stamp Friends - My favourite colours
House of Gilli - Flowers
Claudia & Co & Co - Birthday card for a girl
Karens Doodles - make it sparkle
Make It Monday - Always anything goes
Mojo Monday - Sketch (but I put the ribbon underneath the image instead of across it)
Woodware USA - Anything goes
The Paper Shelter - Anything goes
Delicion Doodles - lace
Paper Pretties - Birthday card
Bloggers Challenge - Make it Shimmer
Stampin for the Weekend - Blue, Buttons and Bling
Daring Cardmakers - Passion for Fashion

Are you in the garden at Sweet Stampin?

Hi everybody

I have three posts today!  How did I manage that?

First up is  Sweet Stampin,  and the theme and sketch this week was chosen by me - In the Garden. So all you Sweet Stampers out there I am sure you will find lots of ideas around both.

We are sponsored this week by Heather Ellis, who has provided us with some lovely images for us to play with.  I think her images are delightful.

My card features a cute little girl with her watering can.  As she is In The Garden she is surrounded by flowers and greenery.  The paper is from the Cosmo Cricket De Lovely pad.  I have coloured with Copics and very lightly brushed around her with some distress inks.  Die cutes are Marianne and Magnolia Doo Hickey.  Flowers are from stash, Wild Orchid Crafts and Joanna Sheen.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up.

I am entering this for the following challenges:

Charisma Cardz - Birthdays in Pink
Crafty Us Crazy - Something New and or favourite embellishment (mew is the Marianne Dies, embellishment - flowers)
Fairy Knoll - Flowers
Delicious Doodles - Let the Sun Shine
Stamp Something - with beachy colours (she may be in the garden but I reckon these are beachy colours)

I really appreciate it that you take the time to look at my blog and leave such lovely comments. Thank you each and every one of you.

Childhood Memories at Sweet Stampin'

My second post for today - this time for  Sweet Stampin'  and our theme this week is Childhood Memories.

This week we are sponsored by Tiffany Doodles, don't you just love here digis - particularly the flower ones.  Tiffany is offering one lucky winner 5 digis.  Our monthly sponsor is the fabulous Joanna Sheen, and the winner will get a £10 gift certificate to spend in her store.

So on to my card about Childhood Memories.  As a child we lived in the sticks - down a small lane.  Our garden was immaculate in some places, but Dad had an orchard of fruit trees with rambling roses, it backed on to fields and had loads of wildlife as well and that is where my sister and I conjured up most of our imagination.  So my memories are of building a fairy den in the orchard where our dolls used to play!  The chicken also used to roam there, so you can image we were pretty filthy by the end of the day.

I have used a Lili of the valley image - coloured with Copics.  My papers are My Minds Eye - the spotty one is the reverse of the main one.  Various punches and dies have been used, and a layer of lace has been used across the bottom panel.  The flowers are from WOC - they have been glittered with Stickles, as has the main image..

I am entering this into the following challenges:

Raise the Bar - Flower Power
Inspire Me Fridays - Anything Goes
Wags 'n' Whiskers - Use a die or punch
Delicious Doodles - Fantasy/Mythical - (do you believe in fairies???)
Little Miss Muffet - Die cuts or punches
Divas by Design - Anything goes
My Mum's Craft Shop - Cute and Girly
Flutterby Wednesday - must include a butterly, fairy or angel

I really appreciate it that you take the time to look at my blog and leave such lovely comments. Thank you each and every one of you.

In the pink for Sweet Stampin'

Hello bloggers everywhere

We have such fabulous weather at the moment, and I am sure this is where my desire to use these scrummy pinks has come from.  So bright and summery.  The week has flown by,  probably because we were away for a long weekend in Lincoln visitng my son.

For this week at  Sweet Stampin'  we are sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads, and we were given some lovely images to use for our cards.  So I have chosen this lovely Hoppy Bunny with his bunch of Easter flowers.  This week our challenge is Easter and whatever that represents for you.

I have followed the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday for this card.  My papers are from Prima Madelaine - they are defintely not going to last very long - they are so pretty, with a dark pink base - which is probably Stampin' Up.  I have coloured with Copics, and added the merest amount of stickles in yellow to the centre of some of the flowers.  The ribbon is from stash, and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I am entering this for the following challenges:

Sweet Sketch Wednesday - I followed the sketch
Delicious Doodles - Anything Goes
Easy Craft Projects - Easter
Fairy Fun Fridays - April shows bring forth May flowers - showers or flowers

Spring showers for a little duck at Sweet Stampin' .....

My second post of the day - this time for Sweet Stampin'.  This week we want to see your creations representing the weather.

Our sponsors this week are Digis with Attitude, and Whimsie Doodles.

I wonder why it is that we always think of rain when the weather is mentioned, but guess what, that is exactly what I chose for this challenge.  My lovely little duck is from Tiffany Doodles.  I have coloured with Copics.  The papers are from Sweete Shoppe digis.  They come with a range of extra elements to use, so I added the white cloud formations and raindrops to the background of dark slouds.  The sentiment was one of many included with the set.  Buttons and clear Dewdrops have been added to complete the picture.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

CardmadFairy Digi Day - back to nature

Your favourite movie for Sweet Stampin'

Hi everybody

Here comes my second post for Sweet Stampin' and Carrie chose the theme of Favourite Movie.  This week we are sponsored by Fairy Dust Crafts, and our monthly sponsor is Pollycraft Digi Stamps.

This was something of a struggle for me - I am not really a movie buff - I don't often go to the cinema - and most often wait until something comes on TV - usually pay per view, or whatever it is called, and I know there are a couple scheduled for the end of this month.

One thing I did decide that it was not going to be cute this time around, so out came my Tim Holtz stamps, and something from B Line Designs.

My background is a variety of Distress Inks on to Ranger Manilla Card.  It was so easy to blend on this card - the first time I have used it and very impressed.  I stamped the Umbrella Man - such a favourite of mine - and then masked him to stamp the Tower Bridge in the background.  The stippling  represents the rain falling.  My sentiment refers to 'dancing in the rain' - well Gene Kelly did dance in the rain, as well as 'Singing in the Rain'.  I attached an Ideology fragment with a piece of calendar behind it and  black/grey thread pulled through it.

I am entering this for the following challenges:

Res-Q-Challenge - A touch of pink
Daring Cardmakers - Home baked - I made my embellishment
Moving Along with the Times - Card or Project for a male
Paper Romance - Use as many colours as possible
For Your Inspiration - photo inspiration
Creative Card Crew - No flowers
Creative Craft World - Anything goes as long as it is for a male
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
A Spoonful of Sugar - Anything goes with a Vintage/Shabby Theme
Cards for Men - Water
Craft your Passion - Anything Goes
Heart 2 Heart - Times 3
Ooh La La Creations - It's a man thing

I really appreciate it that you take the time to look at my blog and leave such lovely comments. Thank you each and every one of you.

Wow - January 1st - and it's Sweet Stampin' time again .......

Good morning revellers.  Here's wishing everybody, a Happy, Healthy, and above all, Peaceful 2011.

It is Sweet Stampin' time again, and we have chosen to ask you to illustrate  Your Favourite Song.   What I have illustrated is not my favourite song, but one I really like.  In fact, I was a bit stumped as to how I could represent my favourite song - Your Song - without a picture of Elton John in it.  So I have chosen Lady in Red.

I have used a lovely Lili of the Valley image, coloured her with Copics, and gilded her wings with Diamond Stickles.  The papers are Bearly Mine.  The fab flowers and red glass sprigg  are from WOC.

Do pop along to Sweet Stampin' to have a look at all work from the other teamies, and have a go at our challenge.

A time for lots of shine for Sweet Stampin'

Good morning one and all

Woo Hoo!  I am on the design team for a second term!  Absolutely fab!

Another Saturday morning - I cannot understand where the time has gone this week.  I know I have been doing stuff, but nothing to blog as I was trying to catch up on getting cards done for Christmas and some are for people who might see them.

Anyway, on to the  Sweet Stampin' Challenge this week.  We have a recipe for you.  Three papers, two embellishments, one image.  Wot - no flowers from me?

We are sponsored by Craft Brulee today, and our monthly sponsor is Crafty Emma's Store.

Well, I already had my background made, but what to put on it.  In the end, I decided to be clever - wrong move - I now have gold leafing flakes all over the floor, because they jumped out of the box at me when I put the lid on.  In the box the leafing flakes look greeny silver, now on the card they have a gold colour!!

All my paper is from last year - not sure which brand - I made this background up a few weeks ago as part of a batch for my marathon Christmas card session.  The image is Penny Black.  I have cut snowlakes with Martha Stewart punches from silver holographic card, and added small blue ones over the top, which I glittered.  Ribbon and other bits and pieces from stash.

I am entering this for the following challenges:
Don't forget to pop along to the Sweet Stampin' Challenge to have a look at all the fab creations.
I really appreciate it that you take the time to look at my blog and leave such lovely comments. Thank you each and every one of you.

DT card - Buttons and Bows

Hello Sweet Stampin' fans and of hello course to anybody else who tunes in here on this bright crisp morning.

I think I am finally getting over my fluey cold, with all its associated nasties.  Three weeks now - and I know of several people including my sister who have been suffering for much longer.

So, this week at Sweet Stampin' our theme is Buttons and Bows.  The prize this week is 6 beautiful pins from Pretty Pin Emebllishments.

My card is a boy's birthday card, so there is a little bit of ribbon, but no bows - I don't think a rugby playing little boy would like bows!

The image is LOTV as is the sentiment from their new range, which I purchased at NEC.  The image is coloured with copics and the background inking is Distress Inks.    This is supposed to be a mucky rugby field.  All the papers are from Basic Grey Oliver, with Bazzill for the dark green background.  Buttons, brad and ribbon all from stash.

i am entering this into the following challenges:

Elllephantastic  - Red and Green - well I have a red button, and the little boy has red hair!
Digi Doodles Best - Red and Green
A Spoonful of Sugar - Anything goes
Meljens Designs - Buttons and Bows
Prairie Fairy Designs - Buttons and Bows

Thanks for stopping by.   I love comments and really appreciate you taking the time to look at my blog..  Keep safe if you are travelling.

It's fluttering snowflakes at Sweet Stampin'

Hi Bloggers

I hope you have a great weekend wherever you are and whatever you are up to!  I sincerely hope you are not affected by the storms around at the moment.

The theme this week at Sweet Stampin' is Snowflakes, and the team have produced some fabby works of inspiration for you, so please pop across and have a look.

I have been playing with Lord Tim stamps for my project this weekend.  It is an 8 x 8" card - I am quite liking this size at the moment, and have made quite a few Christmas cards this size.  For the background I stamped with Versamark and embossed with Ranger Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder in Silver, and then coloured with Distress Inks in a variety of blues.  For the piece the reindeer is on, again I stamped in Versamark, but embossed the snowflakes with clear embossing powder, and then stamped the reindeer in Versamark and embossed with Ranger Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder in Black.  Again I coloured in Distress Inks in blues, but added some green at the bottom and a smidgeon of Scattered Straw around the area of the antlers.

My snowflakes are cut with a Martha Stewart punch, and I covered them with glue and dipped them in Twinklets.  I have added some crystals to these and a few tiny ones to some of the snowflakes on the card.

Our sponsor this week is Tiddly Inks, where you will find a large range of digi stamps, papers and other stuff.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

The Stamp Man - Christmas
Bah Humbug - Reindeer

DT Post - Sweeet Stampin'

Good morning to one and all

I hope you have had a brilliant crafty week.  On Thursday I went with two crafty friends, Anne and Chrissie,  to the NEC for Hobbycrafts, and of course, it involved spending a fair amount of money, and having a great time!  I spent a fair amount of time drooling over the work on the PaperArtsy stand and watching Leandra demoing.

This week at Sweet Stampin' we have a photo to give you inspiration for your creation, which I guess will give you lots of choice for your colours.

We are sponsored today by Pollycraft

and one lucky winner will win a set of seasonal digis.

I have chosen to use the pinky colour as my main colour again - cannot get away from it at the moment - but there are tiny accents of the other colours as well.

I have used a Lili of the Valley image - Christmas Candle for this card, which has been coloured in Copics.  My backing papers are from the lush Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby paper stack.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and I have punched out some holly leaves and fern to go with them.  Some pretty pink and white lace, crtstals and loads of stickles complete the picture.

I am entering this for the following challenges:

Craft your passion - Anything goes
Charisna Cardz Challenge - With love at Christmas
Fairytale Challenge - Everything goes
PaperPlay Challenge - Circles
The ABC Challenge - G is for Glitter
Incy Wincy Designs - Anything goes

Thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate your comments.

Sweet Stampin - Anything but a card ....

Good morning to one and all.

Haha - I thought - I have got my project in early - yes - I did - but forgot to write up my post, so, it is now early hours of Saturday morning when I am writing this.  Silly me, I got really engrossed in doing backgrounds for Christmas cards,  I forgot everything else!!

In case you have forgotten what this month's Sweet Stampin' prize is - here is a little reminder

So this week at Sweet Stampin' we want to see projects that are anything but a card - so bring all your wonderful alternative creations to us, but please remember to include stamping.

For me, I have made some tags and a small hanging, most of which I did in a class with Hels Sheridan. They used some of my favourite colours of distress inks, namely Red Barn Door, Crushed Olive and Wild Honey, which I have used on the wall hanging and one of the tags. The other tag has a mixture of Chipped Glass, Forest Green, and wild Honey and Aged Mahogany.  Both the tags have been embossed with one of the Tim Holtz Sizzix folders.

All the flowers are cut from old book pages with Tim's Tattered Florals, and inked up to make the flowers, in the middle of which there is a metal button.  On the final tag I have a rose in the middle, and have added some beaded wire across the tag as well.  A variety of bits and pieces from Tim's Ideology range have also  been used for embellishing

I am entering this for the following challenges:

ABC Challenge - F is for flowers
Simon Says Stamp and Show - Anything but a card
Stamptacular Sunday - No cards allowed
Pear Tree Designs - Free for all
Tuesday Throwdown - Anything goes
Craftalicious - Anything goes
The Crafty Pad - Distress or torn edges

Thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate your comments.
