One Stop Craft Challenge #90 - DT Card

Hi everybody

I hope you are looking forward to the weekend, and the fine weather we are due to have here in the south.  I must say though, that the rain we had for a couple of days has really helped the garden, although one really sunny day, and it will be very dry again.

This is my DT card for the One Stop Craft Challenge..   We are following a sketch provided by Lisa, and she has asked that an element of metal is included in the card as well.    This week One Stop Craft Challenge is sponsored by Tiffany Doodles, where you will find some great digital images at very reasonable prices.

My image is Birdy Hugs from Tiffany Doodles, which I have coloured with Copics and shadowed round the edge of the card with Distress Inks, and added a couple of sparkly bits to her hair.

The background card is Coredinations, and the spotted paper is from Bearly Mine Designs.  They have quite an array of colours in each theme, so it is very easy to co-ordinate them.  I have put the white card through the cuttlebug with a dots folder.  The image has been raised on foam pads to give some dimension.  The flowers are a mix of Prima and Petalloo.  The sentiment is computer generated, and my metal element is the butterly.

I am also entering this for the Daring Cardmakers - Layer it Up.

Thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate your comments.

Laugh and Live More!

That is the caption on my stamp.

I have followed the sketch for Mojo Monday, and I hope I have interpreted it correctly.

This beautiful stamp  is from a stamp plate by Paper Pag Studios, which I obtained from the Stamp Attic, and I am ashamed to say has not seen the light of day until now!.  She looks utterly joyful.   I have stamped in Stampin' Up Soft Suede on to cream card,   However the flash seems to have washed the cream out.  The patterned paper is from the Prima Whispers Collection, and the silky flower is also Prima.  The punch used at the bottom of the card is Fiskars Sunburst.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:

Mojo Monday #142 - the Contest and a Sketch to follow
Stamp Something - Happy Somethings
No Time to Stamp? #143 - Give it a chance - this is a  stamp from a plate I bought earlier this year and never used, and the flower I have had for ever

Hedgie looks surprised .... to see a bee

Hi everybody

I hope you are having a brill weekend.  The weather has been great, but I don't do this humidity.  I might if I had a lovely pool or the Caribbean sea to jump into!!

Anyway, as I just found it too hot to sit outside, (crazy I know), I decided to retreat to my craft room and make a card.  This is a Penny Black stamp, Just Buzzin' By.  I think it is quite cute with the little face on the bee.  I have coloured with Copics, and the flower has been decoupaged - something I would not normally do, but I thought it lent itself to this treatment.  I have been covered the flower with Glossy Accents, as well as the little flower in the grass.  The wings of the bee have been glittered with Stickles Star Dust.  The patterned paper is from a K & Co pack, and the plain card stock is all Bazzill.

The swirls are cut from the new Tim Holtz die.  Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and Prima, and the pins are from Bunny Zoe's Crafts.

One Stop Craft Challenge - DT Card

Good morning everybody

I hope it is not pouring with rain, like it is as I write this.  No more garden time for me if it is.  It has been lovely pottering these last few days, and lots of stuff coming into flower.  In fact it has been really difficult to do any crafting with the sun shining outside.

This is my first DT card for the One Stop Craft Challenge - the theme being swirls and pearls, which was chosen by the lovely Suzi.

The is the first inking of a Sarah Kay image I have had for a while (along with quite a few others!).  It is Olivia with her Kittens.  The image is stamped on to 300gsm watercolour card with Versafine Ink, and is coloured with Distress Inks, which I have not used for a long time.  My papers are Prima Flights of Fancy, with both sides being used.  I have stamped a couple of swirls, and placed pearls on them.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the leaves are punched with Le-Em punches.  The lace is from stash, rubbed over with distress ink.  The base card on this is dark brown, and the leaves dark green, byut both seem to have come out looking black in the photo.

I am also entering this card for a number of challenges:

Vintage, Distress, Whatever ...

As I am sitting doing this post the sun is shining outside, and the bells are pealing across the fields at the church which is 10 minutes down the road from us.  Such a lovely day.

This style is slightly different from my norm, but something I enjoy doing, and in fact when I started stamping most of my cards were in this sort of style.

All the stamps I have used are B Line from L B Crafts.  The main image is called Stand By Me, and the other is Floral corner.  I have inked the background with Distress Inks, , and coloured the images with them as well.    The background paper is from a box of K & Co papers, with the mount a textured Bazzill on which I have used a Martha Stewart punch along the edge.  The leaves are punched with L-Em punches, flowers are Prima with a Basic Grey enamelled brad.  Ribbon from stash - I think it came from Craft Fairy as I always stock up with them at shows.

Spring has sprung - all least it has for some challenges ...

It has been so lovely these past few days, it does feel almost spring-like, until you pop outside the door into the biting wind.

This is another first for me - in that I have used Copics to colour this Penny Black image.  I have been practicing - and hopefully it is coming right, though I am sure that there is loads to improve.
I have used the Sketch and Stash Challenge no. 30, for this card.

I am also entering it for the following challenges:
I decided to keep the background paper plain as there is so much going on in the stamped image.  The punching has been done with Martha Stewart punches, and I have recycled the little punch outs from the pop-up butterfly to add to the card.

My embellishments are Roses from Wild Orchid Crafts, a Prima flower, both of which I have added stickles to, and punched leaves, with Dew Drops added as well.

Multi-challenges - again ...

This image is the first I have used from my crafty day with my friend .  It is Daisy by Sugar Nellie.  She is so pretty.

I feel I have been really lazy this last week, although I did have a visit to Make It at Farnborough with two crafty friends who are also members of the Graphicus Guild.  I picked up some lovely Prima papers, a couple of new nesties, and also a set of Copics.  Now comes the learning curve - practice, practice, practice ........... and the ones I did at the weekend were awful!

This card is being entered into several challenges, and the sketch I have used is that for Mojo Monday, challenge 128 .

The others are:
The image is coloured with Prisma Pencils, the paper is Prima Raspberry Tea - the rose on there probably represents my favourite flower - an old fashioned sweetly smelling rose - and I decided that the paper was statement enough without adding loads of embellishments.  Ribbon and pearls from stash.

Thanks for stopping by.

3 Challenges in I - Stampin for the weekend, The Corrosive Challenge and Inspirational Card Sketches

Hi Everybody
3 in 1 this time around - really had to think about that before I rushed in like a bull in a china shop.

This card is based on the brilliant sketch by Tricia for ICS, and there are some lovely DT examples on the blog as well.

The Corrosive Challenge required an Anniversary Card, and I think this fits the bill - sometimes I don't like things too over the top.

Stampin' for the weekend requires something with a vintage look and I think this also fits that - the papers certainly do, as does the washed out water colouring.

I have used some of favourite papers (can they all really be favourites - I guess so otherwise I would not buy them, and the image and text is from a set of stamps called Summer by the sea, again coloured with water pencils.

Recipe:
Stamp - Stampin' Up
Paper - K & Co, Madeline
Flowers - Prima
Embellishements - The Hobby House

a 2 in 1 challenge - Stamp Something and Winter Wonderland

Wow - starting on Christmas already, and probably late compared to most people. So I have decided to enter this for two challenges, as I think it fits both. And, as I loved the sketch from Friday Sketchers 64, I have decided to use that again. This stamp is coloured with Inktense pencils - so easy to use - and I have used Christmas paper from last year. If you can see specs, I nearly of loaded a whole tube of Glamour Dust everywhere - so sparkles everywhere!

Recipe:
Stamp - Whiff of Joy
Paper - Basic Grey Dasher
Flowers - Prima
Charm - The Hobby House
Everything else is from stash.
