We are Tagging It at OSCC

Good morning everybody

Time for another challenge at the  One Stop Craft Challenge,  and this week we are doing tags.  So you can either make a tag, or include a tag on a card or any other project.  We are sponsored by One Stop Card Crafts this week - so please pop across to the have a browse at their fab range of goodies.

At the moment I am in love with some Art Journey stamps I bought a couple of weeks ago, so I have decided to make a tag using the Tick Tock set, and I think the wobbly clocks are fab.

To make this tag, first I took a Tim Holtz stamp inked with versamark, and embossed it with clear powder on the plain tag.   Over this I used Distress Ink Stains in three colours, and spritzed lightly with water and let the colours run into each otherslightly.  All the elements are stamped in Rangers Archival Black.  I coloured some seam binding with the Distress Stain, and added a cog through the middle of it.  A small key was added a a tiny watch part to the middle of one of the clocks.  Across the bottom is a piece of tissue tape with the pm hours on it.  I finished with a sparkly button.

I am entering this for the following challenges:

Inspirations - Colour Challenge
The Stamping Boutique - No DP
The Cheerful Stamp Pad - Favourite background
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Stampin' for the Weekend - My favourite things - anything Tim Holtz, Art Journey, Distres Strains and Inks
Art Impressions Stamp Challenge - Distressing
Pals paper Arts - Favourite technique
PaperPlay Challenge - Anything but a card
Some Odd Girl - Bright and Blinding colours
Craft your Days Away - Vintage

Do you want to get sticky at One Stop Crafts?

Hi everybody

Saturday morning dawns, and the weather is much like I have been this week.  Dear OH and I have had some sort of fluey bug, and we have both been pretty grotty.  Unfortunately very little in the way of crafting has got done, but I have 'attempted' to sort my craft room out, only now I seem to have even less space.  I think I need to go on a stash diet.  Having sorted all my plain card I have a 4ft shelf stuffed to the gunnels, and that is only the coloured stuff, I probably have almost as much white and cream!  Enough rambling ...

On to the challenge this week at  One Stop Crafts.  The theme is Stick It, and we want to see Stickers on your work.  How difficult is that you may think - well I cannot remember the last time I used them, so it was a case of hunting for them.  They are barely visible on my card - I have outlined the image and sentiment with gold lines.  This is a card for my father - he likes old cars and flowers.  Hence the flower, and a little lace to soften it a bit.  Until a few years ago Dad was an avid gardener, and the garden was full of the most amazing flowers, but ill-health has prevented him gardening in recent years.  My image is The Old Truck  from Fred She Said, and the paper is from the Memory Box Valise paper pack.

We are sponsored this week by Sassy Studio Designs.  They have a range of modern digi images which are very charming.  The winner will receive 4 digi images as their prize.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Bloggers Challenge - It's Manly Baby!
Glitter Geeks - Male / Fathers Day
Mami Doodlrd - Card for a boy or man
Poodles Parlour - Anything goes
Wags 'n' Whiskers - One for the boys
Craft us Crazy - Masculine
Crafty Sentiments - Father's Day
Delightful Challenges - Anything goes
Dutch Dare - For the boys
Southern Girls - Anything goes

I really appreciate it that you take the time to look at my blog and leave such lovely comments. Thank you each and every one of you.   Have a fabulous weekend.

It's all about Texture at One Stop Card Crafts

Good morning

A beautiful bright and windy morning, but lovely and warm.  This week it is all about Texture at  One Stop Card Crafts,  who are are also sponsoring the challenge this week.  So let's see lots of embossing, ribbons, lace or whatever you fancy to get that texture going.

I feel I have somewhat copped out on this, when I look at the other fabulous pieces of work from the team, but time has not been on my side.  For my card Craftwork Cards came to the rescue and I have used Warren the rabbit in th flower strewn tree roots for my image.  This is mounted on to card I put through the Bug.  The papers and sentiment co-ordinate with the Warren set of images.  The bow is seam binding.

I am entering this into the folloiwing challenge:

Birthday Sundaes - Anything goes birthday card

It's all about fairies at the One Stop Craft Challenge

Hello again

This is my third post - this time for the  One Stop Craft Challenge,  and it's all about Fairy Tales.  This week we are sponsored by the Sassy Design Studios, who gave us some great images to play with.  Unfortunately my printer was playing up, and everything I printed was coming out smudged so I have used a favourite LOTV image.

For this card I have followed the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  I have coloured with Copics, with a liberal dosage of stickles as well.  I have then very lightly brushed around with distress inks.  My papers are some very old Cloud 9 design, with a dark pink base card.  My fairy is surrounded by lovely pale pink roses which remind me of my favourite blowsy pale pink and peachy roses in the garden, which are out a few weeks too early.  I have added lace and pearls, as embellishments.

I am entering this for the following challenges:

Card Making Mamas - Recipe, 1 image, 2 patterned papers, 3 different types of embellishment - flowers, lace, pearls
Fairy Knoll - Flowers
Crafty Emma CES Challenges - Embellish It
Fussy and Fancy - Recipe - 3 papers - 2 patterned and 1 plain, ribbon - lace, 2 embellishments - pearls and flowers
Guylou's Inmitability Blog - ... brings May flowers with a colour challenge
Wags 'n' Whiskers -  Circles

Miami Doodles - Spots and/or Stripes
Inspire Me Fridays - Anything goes

I'm In Stitches at the One Stop Craft Challenge

Hi everybody

What a fabulous day yesterday - I was up with the lark to see the lot from start to finish.  You know - THE WEDDING.   Catherine's dress was elegant, understated and just beautiful in its simplicity.    Her sister looked stunning, and the little bridesmaids were sweet, as were the pages, and I liked that the flowers were very simple as well.  Catherine looked so composed and William looked like the cat that had got the cream - which of course he had.  We sure can put on a show when it comes to something like a royal wedding.

Enough of wittering - I had better tell you about the  One Stop Craft Challenge  today.  Our theme today is In Stitches - and we want to see stitching, either faux or real.  Our sponsors are Dianes Digital Designs.

My card has a background paper from the Tim Holtz Shabby stack, which I have overstamped with stamps from the Haberdashery set.  I have added a panel of pink card whichhas been embossed with faux stitchings, underneath which is some cobwebby pink lace.  .I have cut out the dressmakers stand from the Sewing Room die set, painted it with crackle paint and then wrapped it with brown and pink pleated ribbon.  A brad and rhinestone spacer has been added to look like a brooch.  At the bottom is a reel wrapped with lace and at the top a Tim Holtz letter tag.   I have also added a few sparkly bits over the card.

Fine up to there.  But oh - what was I thinking of!  Why, oh why, did I put that pink flower there.  I cannot get it off because it is stuck with Crafters Pick glue.!!

I am entering this for the following challenges:

Paper Crafting Journey - Bling
Anything Goes Challenge - Pink and Brown
Creative Craft Challenges - get Recycling - my dressmaker stand and the ribbon spool are cut from corrugated cardboard from a box that I pulled apart
LadyBug Crafts Ink - Fashion and a blog hop
Use it Tuesdays - Fasteners - I have used a jewelled brad
Digi Doodles Shops Best - Anything Goes
Do you Stack Up - Make it Pop - 3D effect
Phindy's Challenge - Glitter, Glamour and Glitz

I really appreciate it that you take the time to look at my blog and leave such lovely comments. Thank you each and every one of you.

It's altered for the One Stop Crafts Challenge

Good morning one and all

I really hope you are reading this because it is scheduled and I am in Lincoln visiting my son for a long weekend.

The theme is ALTERED this week at  One Stop Crafts Challenge.  So you lovely crafters let us see something other than a card this time a round, and please pop along to the challenge to see all the pieces of work from our teamies.

I have two examples for you this week.

This is a paper mache box from Hobbycraft which I painted with Eco Green craft paint. The top is then covered with artists modelling paste and used my heat gun to help it dry - which made the paste pop and splutter to get the raised bits. I wiped over the top with some diluted paint on a baby wipe and added a bit of Inka Gold on a paint brush across the top and around the edge. I added blobs of Gemtac glue to which I added seed beads, and then the dragonfly to which I added beads. Lastly the flowers, which are Prima.
The second boxes are very easy, and I have to give credit to Louise at Zuzu's Petals 'n' Stuff.  I really admire her really incredible work.  Please pop across to her blog and have a look at it.

These are light weight wood boxes and I have sprayed them with glimmer mists inside and outside.   Rubbed or brushed on Inka Gold around the sides and edges.  Added flowers (Prima again - and lazy I know - but I am doing some other boxes that will have handmade metal ones on), brass leaves, butterflies etc.  The top bluey green one is Cosmic Shimmer Peacock and it is multicoloured shades.  Fab!  All the edges have sari lace around them, as in the photo below.

I expect you are wondering why so many boxes - well I have taken a stall at my Village Fete, and also a big craft fair.  In the meantime, I have just taken over the house with boxes, paints, etc, etc.  However, it is really enjoyable doing something else as well as cards.  I use a very large pizza box for a spray place, lined with plastic, and then lined with paper towels - several thicknesses.   And how's this for a good way of using up the ink on soaked paper towels - I have rolled a couple of boxes in and got a variation in colour scheme - which has been really effective on a pink box and an orangey-gold one.

I am entering this for the following challenges

Your Next Stamp - Texture it
The Paper Variety - Flowers

Have a fabulous weekend.

I really appreciate it that you take the time to look at my blog and leave such lovely comments. Thank you each and every one of you.

A little vintage sailing for the One Stop Craft Challenge

My second posting of the day - this time for  One Stop Craft Challenge.  This week our theme is Monochrome.  Remember it does not have to be a card, but you do have to follow the theme for the week, and there are lots of lovely examples by the DT's over on the challenge blog.  We are sponsored this week by Robyns's Fetish.  If you pop over to her shop you will find an array of digi stamps and papers.

For my card I have gone a little vintagey again.

I have layered some map paper on to green Bazzill card.  The ship image has been stamped on to a piece of Range Manila card which I have used distress inks on.  The image is Crafty Individuals, and the birds flying across the sky are mini stamps from the Tim Holtz clear stamp set, Visual Artistry.  For embellishments I have used an anchor charm which is coloured with Alchohol ink and distress ink, and a couple of Ideology bits - a cog with a game spinner, and a pin with an addage ticket, which I overstamped with some more words.  Along the bottom of the green mount card I have used my new Fiskars border punch.

I am entering this for the following challenges:

Card Making Mamas - Embellish it
Fabulous Friday - Brads - I have one brad in my game spinner
Fairy Tale Challenge - Happy Birthday - this is a birthday card but I generally do not put sentiments on until I know who the card is for

Good morning peeps

What a brilliant few days we have had weather wise - just lovely.  I also had a fab day at LB Crafts and did a workshop with Lin Brown.  So what with Artsy Crafts and this day, there was defintely no Hobbycrafts show for me this week.

Clean and Simple for One Stop Card Crafts

Good morning everybody

Two weeks since I last blogged - bad girl - but just had other things going on - life - I suppose.

Anyway, I have two posts today.  The first is my DT Card for OSCC, and we are looking for Clean and Simple, so that means "A card with clean lines, minimal elements, areas of white space and few or no embellishments".  So not my style, but I realised that I actually quite like the one I have produced for today.

Our sponsor this week Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps offering the winner of this challenge 5 digital stamps or 4 digital stamps and 1 digital paper set of their choice.

I don't often do DL cards, but I felt this flower stamp needed something other than square.  The stamp is from a PaperArtsy Hot Picks Stamp plate, and there are lots of other elements as well, including a beautiful owl.  One of my many purchases at the ArtsyCrafts event I attended a couple of weeks ago.

For this card I cut a circle to use as a template and coloured it with a variety of distress inks.  I then stamped the flower with archival ink, and added extra colour direct from the pad with a paintbrush to enhance it.    Very quick and easy.  Why don't I do more of them - I don't know - I think it is the expanse of white that I just want to fill up and no embellishments!!

I am entering this for the following challenges:

Craft Us Crazy - anything that reminds you of nature
Crafty Sentiments - Just for you
Pixie Dust Studio - Thank you for being you
Less is More - One Layer and Off the Edge
Bearley Mine - Birthday Card
Creative Craft Challenge - Thank you
Top Tip Tuesday - Birthday card
Southern Girls - Use Flowers
Stampin Sisters in Christ - Use a Stamped Flower
.

I really appreciate it that you take the time to look at my blog and leave such lovely comments. Thank you each and every one of you.

A card for a child - One Stop Card Craft Challenge meets several others

Hi everybody

What happened to the sun that came out Friday morning?  Who switched it off?   It has been dark, damp, dingey and cold since then.  Well - I knews I had to get my entry done for the One Stop Card Crafts Challenge, and that I needed to start on sorting out my craft room.  Easier said than done me thinks, but I have made a start.

For my card this week, I have followed the sketch from the Lili of the Valley Challenge.  I have also used an an LOTV image called Big Present, and I think you can see why - poor little boy - the present is almost as big as he is.  My papers are from Nitwit Collections, Bear Boys To.  The dark brown cardstock is some I discovered when having a sort - it is Cordinations Chocolate range - with brown one side and blue the other, so I used the reverse side for the corner pieces and the backing on the greeting.  I have used Copics for colouring.

It's a Sassy Christmas at One Stop Card Crafts

Hi everybody

Post number 2 for me today, and it's a Sassy Christmas at One Stop Card Crafts.

For my card I have used a lovely image from Mo's Digital Pencil called Christmas Fairy - Holly.  I think she is really cute, and I love her big flouncy dress - so girly.  I have coloured with Copics, and added Stickles Diamond Glitter to her dress, and the edges of her holly wings.  My papers are from last year, and I cannot be sure what they are.  My flower is from Wild Orchid Crafts and the Snowflake is a Cuttlebug Die, which I have dipped in Twinklets and glitter.

I am entering this for the following challenges:
