Spring showers for a little duck at Sweet Stampin' .....

My second post of the day - this time for Sweet Stampin'.  This week we want to see your creations representing the weather.

Our sponsors this week are Digis with Attitude, and Whimsie Doodles.

I wonder why it is that we always think of rain when the weather is mentioned, but guess what, that is exactly what I chose for this challenge.  My lovely little duck is from Tiffany Doodles.  I have coloured with Copics.  The papers are from Sweete Shoppe digis.  They come with a range of extra elements to use, so I added the white cloud formations and raindrops to the background of dark slouds.  The sentiment was one of many included with the set.  Buttons and clear Dewdrops have been added to complete the picture.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

CardmadFairy Digi Day - back to nature
Card Making Mamas - Animals - well a duck is an animal!!
Fabulous Friday - Re-use something - my buttons and thread are from my old button box
Paper Cutz - Use 3 patterned papers

A Spring Fairy for One Stop Card Crafts .... and lots of challenges

Good morning peeps

What a brilliant few days we have had weather wise - just lovely.  I also had a fab day at LB Crafts and did a workshop with Lin Brown.  So what with Artsy Crafts and this day, there was defintely no Hobbycrafts show for me this week.

At  One Stop Card Crafts this week we are looking for Fairies and Angels.  Do pop across to have a look at all the fabby designs from our team - we have lots of new designers join us over the last couple of weeks.  Our sponsors this week are the fabulous Stitchy Stamps.  You will find lots of lovely goodies in their store.

As it has been so lovely, I decided that this card should reflect it, and you know how I love my Lili of the Valley fairies.  So I have used spring colours.  I have layered Bo Bunny papers on to Bazzill, and the red/yellow side are the reverse side of the yellow/white.  I have coloured with Copics and the wings of the fairy have been liberally covered with Stardust Stickles.  My flowers were in the bargain bin at Hollycrafts, and I have taken out the centre and added pearls.  The leaves and draonflies were cut with Doo Hickey dies, and the punching down the side has been done with a Martha Stewart Doily border punch.

I am entering this for the following challenges:

Tiffany Doodles

Tiffany Doodles have a call for new Creative Team members, and I have decided to apply.  I have bought a few of their images in the past, and decided to use one of these for my application.  The digital images are fabulous, and and there is such a wide variety.  Not only that - they are offering a discount of  10 - 20% running until the end of March - so a good time to buy.

The image is Pretty Petals, and I have done a one layer card as I have in the past for this image.  I think it suits it really well, and does not take away from the beauty of it.  I have coloured with Copics.

I really appreciate it that you take the time to look at my blog and leave such lovely comments. Thank you each and every one of you.

My Colourwash Tree House ..... for a few challenges

Hello peeps ........

I cannot believe it is nearly four weeks since I went on the fab ArtsyCrafts Workshops with Lin and Leandra, and the wonderful Duke of Distress, Tim Holtz.  Did I say that I had the time of my life - well - I did.

I thought it was time I showed everybody my project from the class with Lin and Leandra - A colourwash tree house.  Why has it taken so long to blog this?  Well I could not decide what to do about the roof which was almost double the size, and I wasn't sure I actually liked it, so today I folded it back over the frame.  The roof is made from a new product developed by PaperArtsy, it is metal-backed card, and we were the first class to use this product.

I am entering this for the following challenge:

Saturday Challenge - Anything but a card
Sugar Creek Hollow - Anything goes
Alphabet Challenge - T is for Trees
Delicious Doodles - Dimensional project
If the Shoe Fits - Aquamarine
Little Miss Muffet - Brads, Gems or Pearls - I have breads and a Pearl
Paper Play - Embossing - My trees are embossed metal

Stamp Insanity - Use something gold or metalic
Stampin' Royalty - Dry embossing - my trees
Scrap Creations - DT Call

Your favourite movie for Sweet Stampin'

Hi everybody

Here comes my second post for Sweet Stampin' and Carrie chose the theme of Favourite Movie.  This week we are sponsored by Fairy Dust Crafts, and our monthly sponsor is Pollycraft Digi Stamps.

This was something of a struggle for me - I am not really a movie buff - I don't often go to the cinema - and most often wait until something comes on TV - usually pay per view, or whatever it is called, and I know there are a couple scheduled for the end of this month.

One thing I did decide that it was not going to be cute this time around, so out came my Tim Holtz stamps, and something from B Line Designs.

My background is a variety of Distress Inks on to Ranger Manilla Card.  It was so easy to blend on this card - the first time I have used it and very impressed.  I stamped the Umbrella Man - such a favourite of mine - and then masked him to stamp the Tower Bridge in the background.  The stippling  represents the rain falling.  My sentiment refers to 'dancing in the rain' - well Gene Kelly did dance in the rain, as well as 'Singing in the Rain'.  I attached an Ideology fragment with a piece of calendar behind it and  black/grey thread pulled through it.

I am entering this for the following challenges:

Res-Q-Challenge - A touch of pink
Daring Cardmakers - Home baked - I made my embellishment
Moving Along with the Times - Card or Project for a male
Paper Romance - Use as many colours as possible
For Your Inspiration - photo inspiration
Creative Card Crew - No flowers
Creative Craft World - Anything goes as long as it is for a male
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
A Spoonful of Sugar - Anything goes with a Vintage/Shabby Theme
Cards for Men - Water
Craft your Passion - Anything Goes
Heart 2 Heart - Times 3
Ooh La La Creations - It's a man thing

I really appreciate it that you take the time to look at my blog and leave such lovely comments. Thank you each and every one of you.

Clean and Simple for One Stop Card Crafts

Good morning everybody

Two weeks since I last blogged - bad girl - but just had other things going on - life - I suppose.

Anyway, I have two posts today.  The first is my DT Card for OSCC, and we are looking for Clean and Simple, so that means "A card with clean lines, minimal elements, areas of white space and few or no embellishments".  So not my style, but I realised that I actually quite like the one I have produced for today.

Our sponsor this week Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps offering the winner of this challenge 5 digital stamps or 4 digital stamps and 1 digital paper set of their choice.

I don't often do DL cards, but I felt this flower stamp needed something other than square.  The stamp is from a PaperArtsy Hot Picks Stamp plate, and there are lots of other elements as well, including a beautiful owl.  One of my many purchases at the ArtsyCrafts event I attended a couple of weeks ago.

For this card I cut a circle to use as a template and coloured it with a variety of distress inks.  I then stamped the flower with archival ink, and added extra colour direct from the pad with a paintbrush to enhance it.    Very quick and easy.  Why don't I do more of them - I don't know - I think it is the expanse of white that I just want to fill up and no embellishments!!

I am entering this for the following challenges:

Craft Us Crazy - anything that reminds you of nature
Crafty Sentiments - Just for you
Pixie Dust Studio - Thank you for being you
Less is More - One Layer and Off the Edge
Bearley Mine - Birthday Card
Creative Craft Challenge - Thank you
Top Tip Tuesday - Birthday card
Southern Girls - Use Flowers
Stampin Sisters in Christ - Use a Stamped Flower
.

I really appreciate it that you take the time to look at my blog and leave such lovely comments. Thank you each and every one of you.
